RANCHI CHAPTER
INTRODUCTION
Computer Society of India (CSI),
established in 1965, is the largest and most professionally managed
association of and for IT professionals in India. Its members include
Software developers, Scientists, Academicians, Project Managers, CIOs,
CTOs and IT vendors. The society has chapters all over the country. The
Ranchi Chapter of CSI started in 1983 with 30 members. Today, Ranchi
chapter is one of the largest in Eastern Zone with around 200 members
(including 132 life members).
ACTIVITIES OF RANCHI CHAPTER
Over the past few years, the CSI Ranchi
chapter has provided yeomen services in spreading computer literacy to
the community in and around Ranchi. The different activities of the
chapter include :-
Educational
The various courses
conducted by the chapter periodically are:
» Foundation course (for
Beginners)
» Basic course (for School
students)
» Special courses (Special
topics and Customized courses)
» Computer Awareness Programmes
(for Housewives & Working Ladies)
» Rural Development
Programmes : Computer Awareness Programmes are conducted in
schools located in rural areas so that the benefits of computerisation
are realized at grass root level.
»Quiz competitions : The chapter
has organized many inter schools quiz competition for various students’
groups of class IX to X and XI to XII.
» Technical talks/Workshops
Technical talks and workshops are
organized periodically to keep the members updated with latest
developments and to facilitate technical interaction.
» International/ National
Conferences & Seminars
CSI Ranchi Chapter periodically organizes
International/ National Conferences & Seminars on various topics related
to Information Technology, Computerization & Automation. This time
around, the chapter has planned to organize an International Conference
on Automation & Information Technology in Iron & Steel Making Processes
during 26 – 28 February, 2007.
